Macleod Lab

Proud of Alexandra Ware, second year graduate student in the lab presenting our work on the role of BNIP3 in cancer cachexia AACR25. Loss of BNIP3 protects against muscle wasting in a mouse model of PDAC and also limits rates of progression to malignant disease. We are excited to identify how peripheral tissue wasting is modulating tumorigenesis – work has relevance for defining circulating biomarkers of early stage disease and decreasing tumor burden.
