The last Saturday in August each year, the amazing Ginger Rugai and her team of fearless women organize a softball tournament in Beverly/Evergreen Park/Mount Greenwood neighborhoods to raise money for breast cancer research. The over 50 teams compete in a knockout competition and many of the players are there to support family and friends with cancer. The tournament kicks off with the survivors game with thankfully women surviving a breast cancer diagnosis after 30 years and it is heart-lifting to participate.
